South Coast Kids
Since May 2015 we've been open to Child Members from age 8.

There is an abundance of great kidathlon events on the calendar including Lough Cutra, Dungarvan, Loughrea in August, our own Moby Dick Kidathlon in September as well as a host of duathlons during the winter.

South Coast wants to nurture an enthusiasm for sport among young people by encouraging them to enjoy and participate in Triathlon, helping them enjoy the sport as they grow, in a safe and friendly environment.

We encourage and expect the help of parents while our coaches deliver training but it's always Safety first.
Our Vision:
To offer a FUN and FRIENDLY environment  where budding Triathletes can safely enjoy a taste of Triathlon
      SWIM  -  BIKE  -  RUN

To offer youths the chance to learn new skills and correct some bad habits.

It's open to 8-16 year olds of all abilities and none - no previous experience required!
Training Sessions

Kid's training sessions are delivered by our own Triathlon Ireland certified coaches in all disciplines - Swim, Bike, Run and Transition.

They'll train with their own age-group and ability levels.
In addition to formal training sessions we'll occasionally hold mini-competitions so they'll see their training paying off.

We can't do it alone though!
We are most grateful for the assistance of parents in delivering sessions. You don't have to be an expert to help out, simply being present is enough and is greatly appreciated.
*Garda Vetting etc. is required but we can help with this.

Child Safety & Welfare Policy

All our club coaches dealing directly with children are trained and vetted to the highest standards. We operate an open-door policy in the interests of the safety of our junior members and coaches alike and we expect the help and support of our member's parents.

Our Children's Officer is Michael Murphy but if you want to raise any issue of child welfare with any coach or committee member please feel free to contact us. Thank You!

Juniors need to be signed IN and Out of every session by an adult. We use wristbands denoting their groups and parents may get these too!

We have Kid's Trisuits!

For the pool they need swimming togs, hat and goggles. A wetsuit for open water.
